Close to midnight I was still trying to get my youngest son to bed and was starting to get frustrated that he would doze off nursing but wake up the minute I put him down. It suddenly occurred to me that I was not enjoying the moment I was in! I stopped right there and began singing praise songs which not only soothed my son but brought peace and joy to my spirit and helped refocus me. Suddenly the time of night did not matter as God reminded me of what a joy it is to worship Him and what a blessing it is to be a mother. God is so good to meet us wherever we are and give us grace to enjoy the moment and be fully present in it! I had a interesting opportunity to apply “wherever you are, be there” last night.
